Some days remind us why we do what we do.
The GT Charity Drive Experience at Porsche Centre Victoria has never simply been about remarkable automobiles or unforgettable driving experiences. It's about bringing together an incredible community of people who believe that the passion we share for driving can create something far more meaningful. This year's event at Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit was exactly that. More than 150 guests joined us for a day filled with laughter, excitement, friendly competition, and moments that will stay with us for years to come. Together with our Porsche owners, clients, families, partners, volunteers, and the incredible team at Island Kids Cancer Association, we celebrated something much greater than ourselves.
Throughout the day, guests experienced the circuit in ways that only Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit can offer. The autocross course brought out smiles, cheers, and just the right amount of light-hearted rivalry as competitors pushed for the fastest times while eagerly awaiting the final results. Every run was met with encouragement from spectators and fellow drivers alike, creating an atmosphere that was as welcoming as it was exhilarating.
One of the most exciting additions this year was our off-road experience. Watching families climb aboard and discover a completely different side of vehicle capability quickly became one of the day's highlights. It was a new adventure that added another layer of excitement and created unforgettable memories for children and parents alike.
Between driving activities, guests enjoyed racing simulators (sponsored by VRX Simulators), colouring stations, photobooth (sponsored by Hello Photobooth), conversations with fellow enthusiasts, and exceptional hospitality. The team from Villa Eyrie Resort once again delivered an incredible lunch that brought everyone together, giving families, friends, and supporters an opportunity to relax, reconnect, and simply enjoy each other's company.
But if there was one moment that truly captured the spirit of the GT Charity Experience, it was the parade laps. As our Porsche GT and 911 owners welcomed children and their families into the passenger seat, the circuit became more than a motorsports playground. It became a place where dreams came alive. Watching the smiles, hearing the laughter over the sound of the engines, and seeing the excitement on the faces of the children reminded every one of us why this event exists. Those few laps created memories that will last a lifetime, not only for the children and their families, but for the drivers who generously shared the experience. These are the moments that cannot be measured by lap times. They are measured by connection, compassion, and community.
None of this would have been possible without the extraordinary generosity of our Porsche customers, their families and our incredible sponsors. Year after year, they continue to show that the Porsche community is about so much more than the cars we drive. It is about the people beside us and the impact we can make when we come together with a shared purpose.
To Island Kids Cancer Association, thank you for the remarkable work you do every single day to support local children and families facing childhood cancer. It is an honour to partner with an organization that brings hope, comfort, and strength when it is needed most.
And to every guest, volunteer, sponsor, partner, and supporter who joined us, thank you for making this year's event our most successful yet. Together, we raised $213,600 for Island Kids Cancer Association. Every dollar will help provide meaningful support, essential resources, and unforgettable experiences for local families navigating one of life's greatest challenges.
